Launching a strategy

The challenge: Launch Newcastle University’s new vision and strategy, showcasing its world-leading expertise in global research, to a global audience.

The solution: I developed the campaign line “From Newcastle. For the World” and led the creation of a comprehensive suite of assets, including a website redesign, airport billboards, building wraps, social media content, videos, animations, campus banners, press ads, and an internal newspaper. These assets showcased some of the many examples where the research work done by a lecturer or alumni of the university has made a real world impact. Due to specific restrictions, the client wanted a key stock visual that reflected the thinking behind the line. From this, the dandelion was born due to the way its seeds spread far and wide, impacting the world around them.

The impact: The campaign’s success contributed to a significant rise in the university’s global rankings and an awareness and respect among rival universities, much to the client’s delight.
